Chevrolet Announces Red, White and Cruze Sweepstakes Winner

Thanks to organizations like the GM Military Discount Program, the men and women of our armed forces can save money on safe and reliable vehicles for themselves and their families. And, in a recent sweepstakes from Chevrolet, one well-deserving soldier won a fully-loaded 2012 Chevy Cruze. 100 first-prize winners received $100 gift cards, and 1000 second-prize winners received prize packages containing a free Chevrolet Certified Service, oil change, 27-point inspection and tire rotation. All of the winners were active-duty military personnel or family members of military members.
The grand-prize winner, Staff Sgt. Brian Nagy, is an information technology specialist with the federal government and a member of the Ohio Army National Guard's 371st Sustainment Brigade. He's been in the Guard for 15 years, served a tour in Iraq, and was involved in critical communications support during the inauguration of President Obama in 2009. He and his wife had just started shopping for a new car to replace their minivan when he got word that he won the sweepstakes. He says, "I didn't expect to win, so when I got the call, I was pretty excited."1
The new Cruze will prove very useful while he's down in Georgia for a three-month-long training. The family minivan has since been donated to charity, but his wife wouldn't let him leave the new car at home, saying that he earned the right to drive it during his training when he won it.
Chevrolet opened up the Red, White and Cruze Sweepstakes last summer, and closed entries at the end of October, after 48,000 military personnel or members of their families put their names in the pool. Of the continued support of the military from Chevrolet, Chris Perry, VP for Global Marketing says, "At Chevrolet, we are extremely grateful for the service of our men and women in uniform, as well as their families. It's why our history of military support includes the industry's most generous discounts, as well as other initiatives that support both active and retired military men and women."2
